Quite a productive day. I began by pouring superglue into the peghead split/crack in an attempt to stabilize the damage.
Then, I repaired the soundboard edges with some old, well seasoned spruce off cuts, and carved/sanded them to shape and profile.
Lastly I mixed up some oil paint and began blending in the new spruce along with other areas of damage to the finish on the sides.

To get a perfect finish, would mean sanding the violin back to bare wood and starting from scratch. This would ruin its charm and history so, I am opting for a rustic finish

I have been working on another project while I touch up the finish and wait for it to dry properly.
Soon I will begin fitting the new fingerboard and complete the outstanding repairs :)
