I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the professional ukulele maker (luthier) Pete Howlett, in North Wales.

for allowing me to complete two, week long internships in his workshop, where I learnt a vast array of skills and knowledge
about building musical instruments.

I learnt a lot about mass production methods and techniques, to ensure high quality, accurate components and faster building times.
Also spent a lot of time on nitro-cellulose finishes. Preparing instruments for spraying, and learning spraying techniques.
So much work involved before and after spraying to achieve a mirror finish. Worth all the effort, but a lot of practice and knowledge required.
